March 3 - 4:  Spring Obsession at Ironstone.  Obsess about the coming of spring, and celebrate our most popular white wine: Symphony "Obsession."  Art, daffodils (over 500,000!), fabulous food and a unique wine will fill the days of this 12th annual celebration.

 

March 9 - 11:  Sonora Celtic Faire, 26th Annual!!  The Faire is about a 15-minute drive from our Resort.  Don’t let that discourage you –guests are saying we are still close enough to enjoy our Park AND attend the Celtic Faire!  Features Knights Jousting on Horseback * Longbow Archery * Armored Tournament * Modern Clans * Celtic Living History * Ethnic Food & Drink * St. Patrick's Court * Mary Queen of Scot's Royal Court * Irish Step Dancers * Highland Dancers.

 

March 10:   Gold Rush Days, Exhibits, hands-on activities, park docents in period attire.  Columbia State Park, 209) 533-1714.

 

March 10 –12:  California Senior Games   Male and Female sports enthusiasts 50 years old and up will have an opportunity to compete in this Olympic-style event that offers competition in downhill and cross-country skiing, boarding, snowshoeing and more.

 

March 17:  Best Bass Tournament

 

March 17:  Murphys Irish Days. Celebrates Murphys' Irish heritage and beckons visitors and locals alike on the Saturday of St. Patty's with Irish musicians and dancers, authentic Irish fare and wares, carriage rides, crafts booths, dancing in the streets, storytelling and a raffle with a trip to Ireland as grand prize. At 11 a.m. a parade featuring bagpipes, bands, marching groups, animals, and classic cars.

 

March 24 - 25:  2011 Gem & Mineral Show.  Calaveras Fairgrounds, Angels Camp.   World class dealers will offer great values on top quality gems, minerals, jewelry, beads, fossils, petrified wood, lapidary material and equipment, books and supplies.

 

March 27:  Columbia Day Celebration.  A 161st birthday celebration of the day Johnny Walker of the famed Hildreth Party discovered gold and brought life to the area, which started the town of Columbia.
